Green Road Passion Mission
Green Road Passion zine is passionately dedicated to driving the greener way. We believe that road passion does not just mean the thrill of speed and the open road, the joy of the journey—we are convinced that this joy must be guilt free to be really rewarding. With green driving, and green choices, we need not feel guilty about a thrilling trip across the nation, or a weekend jaunt to the hills. Green Driving makes driving fun again, removing the guilt that comes along with carbon emissions.
Exciting electric cars such as the new Model X from Tesla Motors, prove that exotic car performance with extended range electric is feasible and—beautiful. With prices steadily dropping and, more economical models launching, Tesla is positioned to become a dominant force in electric cars.
The highways and roadways of countries around the world take us to places of stunning beauty—vistas worth protecting for ourselves, and our children. Unfortunately, even the drive to greener scenery incrementally destroys the very environment we treasure.
Going Green doesn’t mean, necessarily hybrid or electric, adopting two wheels or walking on two feet. A common sense approach to saving fuel, and polluting less, can make for a more enjoyable drive. When the cost of travel drops, we can travel more often. This is why, we’re passionate about Green Driving.
Green Driving Tips
In our weekly features, we will share as many green driving tips as possible. The simple act of coasting to a stop, avoiding aggressive braking and acceleration, and reducing speed 5 mph can save you 20% on your wallet—depending on your automobile. Even if only ten percent of us care enough to do this, this is a big potential gain for our environment, reducing emissions by countless tons every year. Watch for our latest ticks and tricks.
Toyota Prius provides a different kind of road passion—go as long as you want, as far as you want, in complete comfort, and don’t feel guilty. With real world fifty miles per gallon, cars such as these make road trips affordable and guilt-free. More and more 50 mpg cars will become available in the next few years.

For the true driving enthusiast, the call of the open road defines true road passion. We started in previous incarnations, as a “road passion” only magazine. Along the way, as gas prices soared, and pollution and global warming became more urgent, along with our passion came guilt. Responsible green driving and green buying choices on the purchase of your next auto can not only reduce those feelings of guilt that might come along with the decision to take a National road trip—it very well could make it affordable.
Choosing to Buy Green
Conventional Green or Hybrid Green, Electric or Clean Diesel, the choices are becoming enticing. There is no longer a need to compromise on driving pleasure to gain efficiencies. Companies such as Toyota, have led the way in pioneering reliable new technologies that can achieve genuine 50 mile-per-gallon driving experiences, without sacrificing road pleasure. These companies will continue to pioneer improving hybrid technologies, and are already giving us mainstream electric cars, plug-in hybrids and conventional cars that can achieve extraordinary efficiencies through stop-start technologies and other methods. Right around the corner is the allure of fuel cells.

For those who don’t believe electric cars are viable for long travel, take a look at the stunning Tesla Motors cars, with their extended range and exotic car performance. Sure, they cost more, but give that time. Already Tesla has a newer, more economical sedan coming, Model X—complete with gullwing doors—proving excitement and green can go hand in hand. Tesla has announced partnerships with Toyota who lead in hybrids with their iconic Prius.

At Green Road Passion, we dream about a sustainable future, where road passion is not extinct. We don’t believe the answer to environmental issues is to give up the necessity and pleasure of driving.
